    Expectations of Medical Schools

Older applicants are expected to bring some interesting and fulfilling life experiences to the application "table". From the perspective of Admissions personnel, older applicants should have more insight, maturity and self-knowledge than younger applicants. The big question, "Why are you applying to medical school NOW?", beckons to be answered. And Admissions folks expect you to have learned something from your earlier career(s) that may be applicable or helpful in developing your perspective for a possible new career in medicine.
